So finally Pakistan decided to ban Facebook, the popular networking site, until the 31 of May 2010 in the land of the pure.

The decision came after a petition in the Lahore High Court by the Islamic Lawyers Movement. Ch. Zulfiqar, their advocate for the petition, put forward a plea in front of the LHC to ban Facebook due to the “blasphemous” Draw Muhammad (SAW) Day. He said it could cause major protests and loss of property in Pakistan.

Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry has issued a notice to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority about the issue.
