Your silhouette,
strong against the darkness
of my soul,
Fills my heart
with a yearning
so overwhelming that
I swoon.
Your breath
plays with rhythms
in a symphony of
whispers in my ear
reviving,
reinventing,
rejuvenating,
my innermost secrets.
Oh, the ecstasy
of first love!
Oh, the fervour
of that first touch!
Those moments,
hushed in their decline,
are no more.
Memories,
agonisingly persistent,
remain.

This is one of the BEST pieces of poetry I've read in a long time! It reminds me a LOT of my own poem called, "Rabab Of My Soul" (link: http://pukhtana09.wordpress.com/2011/02/28/rabab-of-my-soul/). Anyway, please keep sharing more of your wonderful poetry! I, too, write poems, from time to time, but they're mostly centered on women (feminism), Pashtuns, philosophy, politics, and of course my husband (whom I'm nuts about! :: blushes ::). :)

Thank you for the appreciation. :) I'm so glad you liked it. I haven't been writing much lately, but this appreciation is so encouraging! Thank you so so much.

Yes.

Been there. Have felt this.

Thanks for putting it in words so well.

Aww! You flatter me. :) Thank you for your appreciation. I try to do better and I hope to call myself a poet someday.

The only other place where I read such real poetry was in my classic poetry textbook.

You're gifted at expression.
